About the University:
Universidade Agostinho Neto (UAN) is a public university in Angola, with its main campus in Talatona, and is considered the most influencial university in the country. Its tradition dates back to the colonial period, although it was after independence that it was established by a state university, with a network of faculties across the whole national territory of Angola. In 2008-2009, howerer, the Angolan university system underwent a major reform, and UAN sphere of influence was limited to the provinces of Luanda and Bengo, leaving the rest of the country to newly created independent universities. The university is still the largest university in the country, with seven faculties, a school and an institute, distributed across its main campus in Talatona and secondary campuses in Luanda, Caxito and Viana.
