About the University:
Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) is a private non-profit university in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, sponsored by the Catholic Archdiocese of São Paulo. The history of this university dates back to 1908, as Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de São Bento, which would be merged with Faculdade Paulista de Direito into Universidade Católica de Sao Paulo in 1946. The newly created university was awarded the status of Pontifical University a few month later, in 1947. The university is particularly strong in the fields of economics, law, and social sciences.
