I am a lecturer in the department of political science, international relations and European studies of Universitatea Alexandru Ioan Cuza din Iasi. I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in political science and a doctoral degree from the same university, with a thesis on Romanian social democracy after 1989. My research interests include political ideologies, political transitions and democratisation processes, political institutions and electoral systems, political anthropology and cultural studies. In 2016 I was awarded a grant from the PATTERNS Lectures programme of Erste Stiftung to introduce a new course on Borders, Barriers and Protest Culture. The New Politics of Social Movements in Central and Eastern Europe.
