Oana Cosman

Dr. Oana Cosman – Lecturer Ph.D., with 15 years' experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes at the university level. Her academic degrees include a Ph.D. in Written Business Communication, and an MA in the Language of Advertising and Media Communication. She has carried out research on native and non-native English speakers' business communication as well as cultural variability within business communication. During her PhD research, Oana wrote several articles, investigating politeness strategies as linguistic variables in the business discourse, various aspects of Business English terminology, and Face-Threatening Acts in business letters. To further broaden her business communication knowledge in the Canadian context, she has also taken several courses in business communication at the University of Toronto as well as the University of Regina in Canada. As a lecturer at the University of Regina, SK, Canada, she taught a wide range of classes and designed a business writing course as well as customised courses for Business English communication.
