About me:
Laura Bini is assistant professor of Financial Accounting at the University of Florence, School of Economics and Management, where she teaches business administration, accounting, financial statement analysis and business planning in bachelor and master courses. In 2010 she obtained a PhD in Financial Accounting with a thesis entitled “The harmonization of financial key performance indicators in annual report: what are the disclosure drivers for European countries?”. In 2009, she was a visiting student at the Manchester Business School. She received funds from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) for the project “The informational capacity of financial performance indicators in European annual reports”. She was awarded a research grant (2010-2011) for the project “The disclosure of performance indicators in European annual reports: a comparison between Anglo-Saxon and Continental countries”. Her research interests are in the areas of corporate disclosure, international accounting and financial statement analysis. More specifically, at present she is involved in research projects focused on disclosure quality measurement, impression management and non-financial information. She has published a book and a number of articles in international journals (Advances in Accounting, Journal of Management and Governance, Journal of Intellectual Capital).
