About the University:
Universidad Autral de Chile is a Chilean research university with its main campus in the city of Valdivia, and a secondary campus in Puerto Montt. It was founded in 1954 as one of the original eight traditional universities in Chile, and gained independence from Universidad de Chile in 1968. The university is formally a private non-profit institution, although it also receives a significal amount of government funding.
