Architectural heritage and European integration

Why do Euro banknotes have pictures of architectures that are familiar but do not actually exist? How much would each European be willing to pay to prevent the destruction of the architecture of ancient Greece? Is it fair that Italy claimed compensation fromĀ Holland for the destruction of Rome heritage by Feyenoord hooligans? Are there cultural routes today that transmit architectural ideas as was the case of the Way of Saint James in the Middle Ages? Is there a local or global image for the architecture of public buildings in Europe? Have the the remaining structures of the former intra-EU border controls become a new kind of heritage? All these questions are topics of interest in contemporary European society, and the Module proposed will seek to answer them along with other crucial issues to understand the value of European architectural heritage.
