About me:
Maria Thereza Miguel Peres is a professor at Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba, where she teaches political economy and Latin American development. She holds a first degree in economic sciences from Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (1983), a master's degree in history from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1991), and a PhD in social history from Universidade de São Paulo (1997). Her areas of research interest include regional economics, the sugar agroindustry, the labor market, and the solidarity economy.
