I choose door number 1. I live almost 20 years in a communist regime. I heard every day some propaganda in school, on the TV, on the street, you name it. The easy answer is number 2 but basically is the same thing. Propaganda started somewhere in the Dark Age and have the first peak in Germany before WW2 and continuing with communism. Strategic communication started before humans is all around us and is non-verbal too. Any living creature has a strategic way to show power, needs... So if you are a political party or a marketing company or the church you use the same technics to achieve the goal. Party need votes, companies need sales, churches need believers. So propaganda is marketing for believers and marketing is propaganda for buyers.

I think strategic communication can mean either communicating a concept, a process, or data that satisfies a long term strategic goal of an organization by allowing facilitation of advanced planning, or communicating over long distances usually using international telecommunications or dedicated global network assets to coordinate actions and activities of operationally significant commercial, non-commercial and military business or combat and logistic subunits. It can also mean the related function within an organization, which handles internal and external communication processes. So, I think this is an element of marketing.

The best ambient artists can manipulate the listener's sense of space and time in highly sophisticated ways. Since the globe becomes increasingly interconnected through new forms of communication, especially in terms of change associated with digitalization & globalization, Strategic Communication (both internal and external) is a cohesive paradigm to position an institution’s communication goals with its structural goals. It serves as an archetype of multidisciplinary approach to achieve the ultimate goals. Consequently, effective strategy of branding &image making can be internally or externally driven, and call for meticulous planningnd diplomatic followup. Apropos, EUROSCI ‘s new experimental gamification, building online Romania, Ukraine, Brazil, China, Moldova communities, educational app is the best illustration of outreach, marketing & team- building.

In my opinion, strategic communication is a kind of communication between people in which some group of people influences others. There are two types of strategic communication internal and external. Strategic communication has its own elements and formulas, without which it can not exist.

I think, strategic communication is encompassing people, who want to bring the information to the public or to create the news. To my mind strategic communication includes internal communication and external communication, I named it “The first step to success”. Internal communication is a process which involves in transmitting and a reception of the information between all the members of an organization. External communication has a good opportunity to influence on other people, but it doesn’t impose their minds. First of all you need to build a strategic plan and bring your positive mindset. Also, we must remember that only authority person can have a positive influence and have successful results!

In my book, strategic communication can be the key to the human mind. The main goal is to change mindset in favour of the speaker. If you need to influence people, you should first determine the target audience. Old automechanic has absolutely different interests than a young mother. Then you should formulate the massage. Why it will be interesting or useful for your target audience? Give yourself an answer and you can convince the public. You need to try creating a striking image for greater efficiency. If you want to push your ideas, you need to establish rapport. I agree with the thesis that even an expert can not be a great speaker if he hasn't charisma and skills of communication. If everything is done correctly, following the video tips, you can achieve the goal (conviction of the audience). So, to my mind, strategic communication is an element of marketing. The online course is an excellent opportunity to grab and involve in my personal experience.

In my opinion, communication is the essence of our existence. It may sound exaggerated, but I would give some examples for better understanding of my point. When we firstly interact with a word as an individual by making our first steps saying our first words we start to communicate with the world around us. We contribute to the process of communication and at the same time get influenced by an existing one. Communication is a very broad concept and can literally mean interaction with either alive person, a message or even an idea. The strategic communication, defined in this video as the system of measures for offering information, can be explained as a set of tools and approaches in terms of production, consuming and processing information. Therefore, when I have to choose between calling it a fancy propaganda or element of marketing, I would better use the first one. Strategic communication is a much broader concept than marketing itself. It is not only about calling to action because the goal of marketing at the end of the day is to make people buy something, visit, call etc. The strategic communication has deeper and much more meaningful aims. It would be better compared to propaganda. Firstly, propaganda is not only a negative concept as most of us could firstly think. Secondly, propaganda is responsible for defining notions, attitudes, ideas in terms of some specific subject. The same applies to strategic communication. In other words, it is not only about delivering information and managing the reaction on it. From my perspective, strategic communication is about defining information itself, it is about making trends, educating and shaping the world around. Quality strategic communication should become a priority not only for private companies but also for a country's development and even our everyday life. For instance, some approaches in terms of communicating messages and ideas are relevant for social-media like Linkedin, Facebook etc. I am really passionate about studying communication as I envision it as a moving force for making this world a better place.

Since creating the modern world there were a lot of ways of control and submission peoples' opinions. Threats, using of force, diplomacy and propaganda are, of course, effective but in nowadays there is one more efficient method of hidden control over human minds and choices. It calls Strategic Communication (mainly external one). I may guess it has its own goals, tools and, what's more important, the target audience. Mainly it is senior people, because all the products and projects of Strategic Communication seem for them more attractive and helpful and this is the way how marketing works. So otherwise, this kind of agile progect marketing allows and expands ways of performing tasks from the standpoint of current challenges and instantaneous changes That's why such department ought to be in every single company.

In my opinion, strategic communication is using of communication to make your purpose real. You push other people to work for you, to do what you want them to do. That's why this communication is called "strategic". It is more like abstract conception. It's about what happens in people's heads and what push them to behave in some particular way.
